POSITION SUMMARY 

This position is responsible for managing and growing customer accounts or geography, leading with service.  It supports the installation and maintenance of water and wastewater systems and equipment.  Additionally, it drives profit by demonstrating operational efficiencies and identifying needs and upselling / cross-selling products to existing customers. 

 

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS 

  •  Own and lead the customer experience by delivering sales and service solutions (focus approximately 80% of time on service and 20% of time on sales)

  • Achieve sales and profit goals by utilizing consultative sales techniques to upsell and cross sell additional products and services

  • Support the installation and maintenance of water and wastewater systems and equipment

  • Service, install and maintain pumps, motors, piping and other mechanical systems as well as electrical circuits

  • Proactively communicate the advantages and features of our products to add value for our customers and grow wallet share

  • Respond to customer questions and overcome objections to close quality sales

  • Document all prospect information and communications and sales in CRM system

POSITION REQUIREMENTS 

 

Formal Education: High school diploma or GED equivalent

Preferred:  BS/BA Degree

 

Required Knowledge and Experience:

 

  • Strong safety focus, with zero incident mindset, including the ability to follow all safety rules and wear all required safety equipment

  • 3 – 5 years’ experience servicing, installing and maintaining pumps, motors, piping and other mechanical systems as well as electrical circuits OR 0 – 3 years of experience with Engineering background or Engineering degree

  • Ability to work independently and be self-motivated

  • Good organizational and time management skills and the ability to work well with others in a dynamic environment

  • Strong mechanical aptitude

  • Strong listening, communication and interpersonal skills

  • Commercial focus, customer service, consultative selling skills

  • Goal oriented with a healthy competitive spirit

  • Strong attention to detail, dependability and follow through

  • Must have a valid driver’s license and clean driving record

  • Must be able to pass a DOT physical

  • Ability to lift up to 75 pounds and to push or pull up to 300 pounds

  • Able to work overtime, nights, weekends as required and be in the on-call after hours rotation

 

Preferred Knowledge and Experience: 

  • Previous sales experience, including closing skills

  • DOT Medical Card required

  • PLC experience

 

Technical/Skill Requirements:

  • Familiarity with basic use of Outlook, Word and Excel

  • Proficiency with mobile devices (phone, tablet)
