Evoqua Water Technologies is currently searching for an experienced Inside Sales Specialist in the Midwestern USA. (The position can be based in Minneapolis, St. Louis, Kansas City, or Omaha).


The Inside Sales Specialist is mainly an inside sales position for someone with experience and a technical background. Unique to this position, is the opportunity to do outside sales as well. If that is a career path you’d like to follow, please keep reading.



  • Primary contact for C&D level customer requests that come into the area directly or indirectly through the call center.

  • Actively prospect targeted customers or product lines to drive top line growth goals and market share.

  • Generate proposals for Service Contracts, SDI, Other Services, Aftermarket and Lab Products

  • Follow up on proposals until they are won, lost or determined cancelled.

  • Obtaining purchase orders and processing the job packages

  • The ISS can assist the Sales Team with proposals but the Outside Sales Rep is responsible for reviewing and sending the final proposal to the customer.

  • Actively call on C&D level customers to maintain the customer relationship and expand our service offering

  • Assist customers who have a contract renewal issue outside the scope of the Contract Renewal Specialist or Branch Administrator

  • Spearheading SDI and IonRight takeaway initiatives

  • Engage sales and Operations with in house Service Lead Sales program

  • Review electronic bid requests to qualify the opportunities. This requires reviewing the bid requests, calling the company posting the bid and gathering the scope of work if not posted in the bid. Once the bid is qualified as an opportunity for HP, the ISS will provide a proposal or pass it to the appropriate account manager.

  • Support Sales Initiatives with accounts and promotional activities (trade shows, lunch and learns, networking events)

  • Back-up for area sales team during PTO or transition periods

  • Daily and accurate maintenance of CRM system to include tracking, logging, recording of calls, quotes, etc.

  • Account retention through direct customer contact

  • Forecasting and meeting sales objectives.



  • BS/BA in related discipline, or advanced degree, where required, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • 2+ years of related experience; handling a large number of accounts & customer management experience

  • This ideal candidate must have successfully demonstrated:

             •Ability to effectively work with a myriad of customers both internal and external

             •Strong communication and presentation skills

             • Understanding of pricing management-ideology & tools

  • Water Industry experience is a plus

  • Plumbing or HVAC knowledge is a plus

  • Able for minimal local travel as needed
