As the Evoqua EHS Professional, you will provide leadership direction around our EHS strategy to the entire Integrated Services & Operations (ISO) organization. The position can be based out of multiple locations:

Darlington, PA - Rockford, IL - Indianapolis, IN - Roseville, MN

 

In this role you will mentor and support the business with their execution of EHS compliance, driving development, implementation and continuous improvement. The position will report to the Sr. Manager Environmental Affairs. The EHS Professional will oversee Evoqua’s EHS programs for a network of multiple sites with varying operations and functions to achieve and maintain compliance with Federal, State and Local regulations as well as Corporate policies and procedures.

 

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Working within Evoqua EHS Management System, strategy and policy framework, propose and implement health, safety and environmental strategies, guidelines and procedures within broad principles and policies set by the organization to meet EHS requirements supporting short and long-term business needs
  • Develop division specific strategies to achieve a Safety culture focused on hazard identification and risk reduction
  • Advises all levels of management on government jurisdictional regulations relating to EHS and recommends necessary action to attain compliance to regulation or conformance to company standards
  • Promote a proactive approach to safety throughout the ISO organization focusing on leadership and employee engagement
  • Ensure that all incidents and near misses are investigated to identify root cause and that proper corrective actions are implemented
  • Maintain compliance with site-specific environmental permits, plans, and reporting obligations.
  • Implementing compliance with state, federal, local and recently promulgated EHS regulations.
  • Is accountable for leading and driving EHS execution throughout the division
  • Develops, reviews and updates EHS programs to fit the organizational needs   
  • Collaborates with employees and supervisors to identify and correct potential EHS hazards and impacts
  • Drives use of EHS mobile tools, provides coaching to ensure quality data is inputted and drives closure of action items within our EHS Management System

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health & Safety or related Engineering or Science field
    • Preferred: Associate Safety Professional (ASP) and/or additional Environmental, Health & Safety certifications
  • Minimum of four years of Environmental, Health and Safety program management experience
  • Experience in industrial, manufacturing, warehousing, and multi-site settings 
  • Ability to influence at all levels of an organization
  • Ability to establish, maintain and foster a positive and harmonious working relationship with stakeholders within the business
  • Excellent communication skills, able to communicate effectively, including preparation and development of clear, concise and accurate reports.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, able to work independently, handle multiple projects simultaneously
  • Comfortable working in virtual environments with remote teams and across a broad set of stakeholders
  • Mature judgement and decision-making ability
  • Strong computer skills including proficiency in Excel, Word, Outlook and PowerPoint, online software platforms, with the ability to use spreadsheets and data analysis application
  • Approximately10% travel
