Evoqua Heavy Industry is looking for a Field Service Engineer to support our operations, assignments anywhere in the Eastern Half of the United States are likely.  The position actively participates in providing on-site technical and operational support in the design, development, installation and maintenance of equipment and systems of a semi-complex nature. Participates in conducting site surveys to develop base or installation design plans as well as providing support in training customers to maintain and adjust equipment. Prepares and submits reports covering all job activity. Provides support in maintaining tools, test equipment, calibration items, etc. and will perform installation and start-up as well as some routine maintenance and operations at our industrial water treatment and industrial waste water facilities.

 

This position is responsible for:

 

  • Supporting the installation, start-up and commissioning of sites
  • Routine system maintenance and troubleshooting
  • Data collection
  • PLC/HMI installation and operation
  • Monitoring system operating parameters including influent and effluent streams
  • Following OSHA, US EPA and Site regulations
  • Working with the highest standard for safety
  • Perform investigative testing and troubleshooting
  • Troubleshooting less clearly defined issues involving new and existing installations
  • Electrical, piping and mechanical installation, repairs and maintenance
  • Documenting all installations, inspections, maintenance, repair work, etc.
  • OJT of customers and other Evoqua personnel
  • A high level of direct interface and communication with customer and contractor labor, skilled trades, engineering and management

 

This position will provide semi-complex training to other operators and customer on products and services. The key responsibility for the Field Service Engineer is to effectively perform a standard professional level work that typically requires processing and interpreting, more complex, less clearly-defined issues.  Identifies and resolves readily identifiable, clearly-defined problems while knowing when to refer more complex, unusual problems to others. Excellent communication skills are a requirement.

 

The qualifications of the ideal candidate will include:

 

  • A Bachelor’s Degree, Associate’s Degree, vocational/ technical training, or equivalent experience
  • 3-5 years general industrial experience
  • 3-5 years Industrial water treatment or water chemistry experience
  • 3-5 years in general electrical experience preferred
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Strong mechanical knowledge, including pumps, valves, and piping
  • PLC experience helpful
  • Working knowledge of MS Office
  • A valid driver’s license and clean driving record
  • The ability to lift 70 lbs. routinely on a daily basis
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and team skills
  • Must be able to pass a DISA physical with drug testing including hair testing
  • Must be able to possess a Transportation Worker Identification Card
  • Must be willing to work 12 hour shifts and able to work after-hours on-call, weekends, and holidays
  • Extensive travel should be expected
