Position Summary
Sells products and/or services to customer, then transitions account to an account manager or relationship manager for ongoing maintenance and service. Develops new accounts and/or generates new business from existing accounts. Pursues sales leads and visits customer sites within assigned territory defined by geographic area, industry, or product/service segment to present bold and innovative solutions to customer challenges. In addition to face-to-face meetings, engage with customers in a variety of mediums to close sales. Must work with a sense of urgency to execute sales strategy, identify new opportunities/leads, and generate sales reports.
Core Responsibilities and Tasks
• Develops new customers within the region by actively prospecting and qualifying opportunities through complete discovery and completion of FIND packages; facilitates new customer engagements (Webinars, Lunch & Learns, Trade Shows, etc.)
• Establishes relationships with all levels of prospective customers who influence or make buying decisions; develops understanding of competitive products, accounts, and Evoqua unique value proposition versus the competition; develops deep product and program knowledge of appropriate Evoqua product lines in order to properly present capabilities
• Creates and delivers quotes and proposals to deliver to customers
• Proactive account development and ability to make sales appointments and penetrate accounts at all levels.
• Cross functional collaboration to build strategic understanding of customer needs; works with all key internal departments to gather data and enlist support for strategic accounts initiatives to enhance the unique value proposition of Evoqua at target opportunities; coordinates local trade show booth/tabletop; takes lead on booking orders, holding COA and kick-off meetings; conducts Sales Presentations and Product Demos
• Fully utilize the CRM tool to monitor and report progress towards exceeding bookings and gross margin targets
• Ensures smooth transition of new account bookings, including kick-off meetings, to Account Management and/or Project Management, including managing the submission of the complete job package
• Ensures compliance with COA process and target margins for new business and process booking package
• Sells complex products and services; utilizes knowledge of products, services, and industry to evaluate and recommend best solutions to customers
• Other duties as assigned
Position Requirements
FORMAL EDUCATION:
Required:
High School Diploma or equivalent
6+ years of sales experience
Preferred:
BS/BA in related discipline, or equivalent combination of education and experience
KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE:
Required:
• Strong communication skills
• Intra-departmental communication for purpose of alignment/information sharing
• Highly skilled at sales techniques and strong understanding of company products / services
• Comprehensive knowledge within area of specialization
• May utilize knowledge of industry to recommend updates or changes to product / service offering
• Sales completed with little to no supervision
• Demonstrates strong ability to identify and cultivate sales from new customers
• Must have an acceptable driving record to be insurable to drive for company busines
• Basic understanding of ERP and CRM systems
• Fluency in Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel)
