Position Summary

The Business Developer II role is responsible for supporting the sales organization by Sales Support along with product or service specific training to the sales team. The Business Developer II will also be responsible in driving business relationships with customers to support sales efforts by attending trade shows and other industry events.

Core Responsibilities and Tasks

• Entry-level marketing or business development position.
• Individual contributor.
• Is assigned to specific business unit with ownership of customer relationships.
• Creates proposals for marketing strategy specific to a single business unit.
• Role will have business unit and scope assigned by BDM or Sales leadership. 
• Business developers support Sales function and will not do independent customer contact without partnership of Sales Representative. 
• Identifies potential business customer relationships and contacts in support of Sales rep and sales strategy for assigned business unit. 
• Identification of customer needs, industry challenges, and competitive intelligence.
Organization Impact:
• Objectives defined by upper management, Specific to defined business unit.
• Failure to achieve objectives will impact sales strategy for assigned business unit for achievement of short-term goals.

FORMAL EDUCATION:
Required:
BS/BA in related discipline, 1-3 years of marketing, engineering, or sales in water treatment or industrial applications is required

KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE:
Required:
Working knowledge of business environment and sales strategy; ability to learn and apply marketing concepts and techniques
