Summary of Role:  Oversees the construction activites that take place on the worksite.  Involved in planning, organizing and controlling projects.  

 

Responsibilities:  

  • Oversees construction sites, general contractors, and workers to ensure a high level of quality and safety.
  • Guarantees that all work is performed in accordance with approved manuals and procedures
  • Ensures that project is construced and documented in accordance with the contract documents and good engineering practices
  • Provides technical support to Project Managers
  • Performs change order estimating and assists the Project Manager in change order negotiations
  • Coordinates and monitors schedule updates, invoices and submittals
  • Assists in managing and reviewing the progress of contractors construction schedules
  • Reviews weekly and monthly reports on the status and progress of the contracts, including project costs and potential changes
  • Reports the status of projects to business and market leaders
  • Attend client meetings as needed                                            
  • Lead interface with local on site Customer if/when Project Manager is not present.

Education Requirements:  BS in Civil Eng, Construction Mgmt, or other related discipline with 5 years of experience or 10 years of work experience in lieu of degree

 

Experience Requirements:  10+ years of project experience working in the construction industry required; Experience with large manufacturing facilites construction sites preferred.

 

Skills/knowledge:  

  • Proficient with MS Office suite of tools
  • Knowledge of construction technology
  • EPC industry experience
  • Familiarity with project and department budget process and tools
  • Risk assessment/management
  • Leadership ability
  • Must be able to multi task
  • Strong communication, and presentation skills                  
  • Ability to read,understand, and direct work based on engineering drawings, schematics and construction documents.

 

Travel Requirements:  A minimum of 80% travel and required to travel Internationally and obtain a passport
