Evoqua has an exciting opportunity for a Field Service Technician supporting our heavy industry customers in primarily the Gulf area, based out of Houston, TX. As the Field Service Technician, you will perform installation, start-ups, investigative tests, troubleshooting, repairs and maintenance to our water treatment equipment (reverse osmosis, CDI, automatic softeners, carbon units and deionization water systems) at multiple customer locations.


More about the position:

  • Not a fan of a desk job? In this role you will work in the field within the Industrial Plant environment daily. This will service both internal and external customer locations and equipment.
  • Enjoy solving problems? The key responsibility for the Technician is to effectively identify problems as they occur and take appropriate steps to solve them and prevent them from recurring.
  • Enjoy sharing your knowledge with customers to improve their systems? You will provide semi-complex training to customers on products and services, as well as documenting all installations, inspections, maintenance, repair work, etc.


What we require of you:

  • Bachelor of Science, Electrical Engineering, Technical Degree, or Applicable Military Experience
  • Licensed Electrician (Journeyman / Maintenance or Higher) or Certified / Degreed Instrumentation Technician or 10 years industry experience in an industrial or heavy commercial field will be strongly considered.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in high purity water directly related to installation, repair, and maintenance of industrial equipment (pumps) desired, not required
  • Minimum of 3 years of general experience in electrical and control systems
  • Industrial water treatment or water chemistry experience preferred, but not necessary
  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
  • Employee must have a TWIC or be eligible to get one as it will be required to visit some customer sites
  • The ability to lift at least 50 pounds and to push or pull up to 300 pounds for up to 20% of the workday
  • Ability to work independently with little to no supervision, but also works well in team environment
  • Must have strong mechanical aptitude
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Able to work overtime, nights, weekends as required in the on-call after-hours rotation
  • Must be able to follow all safety rules and wear all required safety equipment
  • Travel while not required weekly could be requested to travel regionally and or nationally as needed. Travel could be up to 50%
