Evoqua is currently seeking an experienced Sales Engineer to work remotely within the Eastern/Central time zones in the USA. 


This position is for a sales engineer for our North American Magneto Special Anode sales group. The successful candidate will be a self-starter with customer-centric personality, strong communication skills, MS Office proficiency especially Excel and CRM, and consultative technical selling capabilities. Approximately 30% - 50% travel is expected in order to call on potential and existing customers, and to work with key sub-vendors, as necessary.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS:                                                                                

  • Prospect / customer identification and development
  • Identify prospects through cold calling, trade shows, market networking
  • Determine prospect's value needs for the use of insoluble anodes in their electrolytic application
  • Match Magneto's capabilities in anode and coating design to achieve value addition to prospect's operations
  • Solution development and presentation
  • Working with Magneto engineers and scientists in The Netherlands, design anodes to meet prospect's requirements
  • Present design and value proposition to the prospects and customers
  • Provide quotations to prospects and customers
  • Sales of electrolytic anodes
  • Secure orders for anodes from prospects and customers
  • Develops strong working relationships with customers in assigned markets
  • Become product and anode technology expert in assigned markets
  • Works with internal engineering, research & development, product management, logistics, and production personnel based in The Netherlands, and inside sales support in North America to advance the division's products and services
  • Document and manage activities and efforts
  • Document and manage activities and efforts through in-depth use of CRM system, ERP system, and quoting system
  • Provide data and reports to assist in advancing goals of the division
  • Achieve sales goals, margin goals, and assigned objectives.
  • Maintain customer satisfaction
  • Assure highest quality product and service to assure customer satisfaction
  • Expand knowledge and capabilities to assume North America sales management role within 1 – 2 years.



  • BS in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering (with strong chemical underpinnings), or Chemistry (with strong mechanical capabilities); MBA strongly desired
  • 2 - 5 years' experience selling specialty components / fabrications and / or specialty coatings
  • Very organized and capable of managing many activities
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel; proficiency in use of CRM system, preferably Microsoft Dynamics 365
  • Self-starter capable of working well with others with minimal supervision
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Familiarity with titanium or alloys fabrication
  • Familiarity with specialty coatings, electroplating, hypochlorite generation, chlor alkali
  • Experience with electrical and electrochemical calculations
