Evoqua is currently searching for an experienced Technical Sales Representative to cover the New York metro area.


The Technical Sales Representative develops and maintains accounts for construction environmental water treatment and all types of carbon and resin-based water and vapor-related solutions for contaminants along with the associated equipment and operating services for the New York metro area.


The ideal candidate will be located in New Jersey or New York City.  The primary responsibility of this position is to directly and indirectly grow all revenue segments for media, equipment and ongoing Evoqua service at target and existing accounts while working closely with other Evoqua divisions to leverage relationships and portfolio. The position will focus on customers in industrial manufacturing, hydrocarbon and chemical processing, food and beverage, municipal, remediation and the other consultants or service companies engaged in these markets. Experience with water treatment is a plus.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Manages a specific geographic territory, pricing existing customer penetration and prospecting for new business
  • Assists clients with technical solutions to help identify and resolve their water and vapor treatment issues; including municipal, industrial, construction environmental remediation, oil & gas, and chemical markets
  • Develops and maintains plans for strategic accounts that exceed expectations in revenue retention/growth, account profitability, and customer satisfaction/loyalty
  • Develops, builds and cultivates long-term relationships with key management within customer organization
  • Utilizes CRM tools to record customer interactions and maintain customer opportunity information
  • Performs client presentations, articulating the value proposition of product, solution and service offerings
  • Provides management with suggestions for improving volume, market share and price levels
  • Manage the customer relationship as well as relationships with internal business center partners to ensure the effective development and delivery of solutions

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in a technical field such as Chemistry, Chemical or Mechanical Engineering, Environmental Science or similar strongly preferred.  Relevant industrial market experience can substitute for a bachelor’s degree in science or related field
  • Knowledge of Environmental regulations, municipal and industrial water treatment with a focus on activated carbon is a plus
  • Knowledge of tank degassing and vapor abatement services for the gas, oil, chemical, refinery and pipeline sector is a plus
  • At least 5 years sales experience in a similar industrial industry
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Dynamics CRM, Word, PowerPoint, Excel and other software will be an important component of success in the position
  • Valid Driver's License and clean driving record, must meet eligibility requirements to drive company vehicle
  • Successfully demonstrated experience selling or experience in the Environmental Services product line
  • Ability to develop solutions, review design, costing, and installation estimates with the Application Engineering, Project Management, service and aftermarket organizations
  • Can lift up to 50lbs, travel by car or air to customer sites, sales meetings, trade shows, regional training or sales meetings nationally with up to 50% overnight travel
  • Achieve the required amount of external sales calls as defined by metrics for the sales position
  • Ability to work in industrial environments such as chemical plants, refineries, construction sites or similar work environments
  • Independently performs professional work that typically requires interpreting and processing complex data
