Position Summary

We are hiring for a Construction Manager to travel to customer sites across the US. This role will be responsible for overseeing the onsite activities at our customer locations for industrial wastewater treatment facility construction. You will also be partnering with our Project Management team to assist in planning, organizing and controlling projects.

Core Responsibilities and Tasks

  • Oversees construction sites, general contractors, and workers to ensure a high level of quality and safety.
  • Guarantees that all work is performed in accordance with approved manuals and procedures
  • Ensures that project is constructed and documented in accordance with the contract documents and good engineering practices.
  • Provides technical support to Project Managers
  • Performs change order estimating and assists the Project Manager in change order negotiations
  • Coordinates and monitors schedule updates, invoices, and submittals
  • Prepares 3 week look ahead and ensures materials and equipment will be available
  • Assists in managing and reviewing the progress of contractor's construction schedules.
  • Reviews weekly and monthly reports on the status and progress of the contracts, including project costs and potential changes
  • Attend client meetings as needed                                           
  • Lead interface with local onsite Customer if/when Project Manager is not present.

Position Requirements

  • BS in Civil Eng, Construction Mgmt, or other related discipline with 5 years of experience or 10 years of work experience in lieu of degree
  • 5+ years of project experience working in the construction industry required; Experience with large manufacturing facilities construction sites preferred
  • Proficient with MS Office suite of tools
  • Knowledge of construction technology
  • EPC industry experience an asset
  • Risk assessment/management

  • Effective communication, and presentation skills                 
  • Ability to read, understand, and direct work based on engineering drawings, schematics and construction documents

  • Travel required within US and Canada (100% travel)
  • Long term duration on project sites
