POSITION SUMMARY

Evoqua’s Corporate Development and M&A team works closely with the CEO and Executive Leadership Team (ELT) to define the M&A Strategy of the company,  performing all M&A activities associated with Evoqua’s aggressive growth agenda.  The Director, Corporate Development and M&A, is a key role within this team, directly reporting to Sr Director, Corporate Development and M&A

 

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS

Responsibilities of this position include:

  • Work with the Senior Director, Corporate Development and M&A, Segment strategy and Segment leadership to develop and align  an M&A strategy in support of the Segment’s overall growth strategy
  • Develop and cultivate relationships with investment bankers, sale/buy side advisors and corporate development leads within the water industry to facilitate transactions and promote Evoqua as a leader in M&A
  • Direct all aspects of Evoqua’s Corporate Development and M&A activities, including acquisitions, divestitures, joint ventures and equity investing, including
    • Identification and evaluation of acquisition targets, aligning with growth strategy
    •  Development, maintenance and cultivation of M&A Pipeline
    •  Coordination of all aspects of transactions, including NDA’s, Letters of Intent, due diligence, and negotiations, as well as associated internal approval processes
    • Lead due diligence activities through effective partnering with key division personnel, cross functional departments and third-party advisors to ensure efficient transaction execution
    • Prepare and deliver assessments of proposed, in processed and completed transactions to Segment and ELT leadership
  • Provide training, direction and oversight to managers and staff personnel within the Corporate Development and M&A group
  • Provide training, direction and support to operational and functional employees who participate in M&A transactions

 

Education

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration

Preferred: 

  • Master’s Degree (MBA)
  • Professional Certifications (CPA, CFA)

 

KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE:

Required:

  • 10 years of Corporate M&A experience, with demonstrated experience in leading M&A transactions
  • Direct experience in M&A strategy development
  • Strong communication skills, including ability to present to senior levels

Preferred:

  • Previous experience in investment banking or strategic advisory services.
  • Public company experience
  • Water industry knowledge
