Evoqua is looking for a Director of Engineering to lead the execution of business for Evoqua’s Integrated Equipment Technologies division. 


 As Director of Engineering and Design functions, you will interface closely with Sales, Supply Chain, and Factory personnel.  You will have responsibility to deliver on internal and external customer commitments while also delivering on business revenue, EBITDA, and cash flow goals. 


This position reports to the General Manager of Evoqua’s Integrated Equipment Technologies Division and works closely with various functional teams as described above.  Approximately 60 employees will report into the Director position.   To succeed as Director of Engineering, you will need solid leadership skills as you will be leading individuals and teams.  Excellent communication and organizational skills, the ability to collaborate across business functions, and an ability to assess and understand complex situations and data to formulate and articulate actions will be required.   A strong ownership mindset backed by personal accountability and transparency are critical in this position. 


Responsibilities include:

  • Leadership of the order execution team and close alignment with other functional teams and overall business priorities.
  • Accountable for the performance of the execution engineering teams, including electrical, mechanical, project and design/drafting disciplines
  • Maintain and analyze monthly performance metrics and leverage them to improve business results.
  • Develop and direct activities to deliver productivity improvements in order execution through improvements in processes, tools, training, and personnel.
  • Actively participate in the resolution of issues that can impact project cost and delivery or otherwise pose risk to the business
  • Review staffing and direct labor plans on regular basis to ensure they are at appropriate levels for the business.  Align resources across multiple business sites.
  • Understand internal customer and external client requirements and ensure team results reflect those expectations.
  • Manage financial performance of the engineering team including department costs, net absorption and project engineering expenses.
  • Managing a team of professionals supporting the activities listed above.
  • Onboarding of new hires and employee engagement.



  • Minimum of 10 years’ experience managing and working in technical/engineering focused teams.
  • Proven leadership and strong engagement skils
  • B.S. in a related engineering field (Mechanical, Chemical, Civil, Electrical)
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to travel up to 30%
  • Preferred experience in the water industry
