This position works closely with the Project Management teams, other Engineering Discipline teams and Field Services to ensure the successful execution of the design and implementation of water treatment systems.  The Project Engineering Team provides the technical leadership on the highly specified and complex heavy and light industry vertical market projects awarded to Evoqua.  This position will be focused on providing the proper leadership and utilization of talented resources across Evoqua to maximize the successful execution of these challenging projects.


This position will be responsible for the following tasks and duties:


  • Maintain a safe and collaborative working environment and culture within the team and in interactions with other disciplines
  • Collaborate with the project management and project engineering teams to clearly identify customer’s needs and assist in development of execution strategy
  • Provide technical support and advanced problem solving, both practical and strategic, across project portfolio to assist in developing solutions for complex integrated technology project issues
  • Provide leadership to project management and project engineering teams in the recognition and development of change order opportunities or risk assessment throughout execution of project
  • Provide guidance for interpreting project technical specifications, terms & conditions documents as well as understand project process guarantees
  • Participate with Applications Engineering in development of proposal solutions including specification review, execution labor review, opportunity/risk review and execution schedule development
  • Continue development of standard engineering tools and calculation templates to improve design accuracy across engineering disciplines and consistency of execution among disciplines
  • Coordinate and oversee resourcing of the team’s project portfolio with respect to meeting project execution strategy utilizing Evoqua engineering disciplines as well as third party engineering
  • Support efforts of Evoqua strategic sourcing and procurement teams in project execution and strategic efforts
  • Support the Evoqua manufacturing teams in the execution of fabrication and assembly efforts to achieve the project equipment shipment as scheduled
  • Provide strategic technical support to the field services team during project commissioning and startup execution
  • Support developmental workshops to support Evoqua’s growth strategies to expand and support our client base


This position requires the following qualifications and experience:


  • Minimum of a BS in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering required, with other disciplines considered based on experience, Masters degree is preferred
  • 5-8 years of experience in a complex project environment as an engineering manager
  • Ability to translate strategy/high level business goals into actionable and tactical plans to achieve results
  • Able to communicate his/her ability to manage remote teams to meet schedule and scope requirements of projects, and is able to lead efforts to develop actions taken for projects that deviate from schedule and scope
  • Understands project management requirements regarding forecasting, scheduling, and client relations
  • Preferred but not necessary experience in water treatment industry involving process design and/or equipment specification, knowledge of water treatment processes, including physical separation, chemical precipitation, membrane separation and ion exchange
  • Business travel (up to 20 percent) is required
