Evoqua is currently searching for an experienced Project Risk Manager, based in Pittsburgh, PA.

Reporting to the Director, Project Manager, the Project Risk  Manager will work to support the company’s objectives by managing all aspects of compliance and the change management process as it relates to the execution of projects.  



  • Oversees claims management activities, including but not limited to customer and vendor claim assessment, settlement evaluation and negotiation, and other functional responsibilities
  • Assists project management teams to proactively address and expedite resolution of claims to minimize financial impact of commercial issues in accordance with the Delegation of Authority (“DoA”)
  • Leads analysis, management and development of resolution strategy for customer and vendor claims, working with external vendors and internal teams
  • Continuous review of contract requirements, identifying risks, opportunities, and concerns.
  • Draft and document all changes, prepare change orders and submittals to owners
  • Participate in pre-award contract reviews and risk analysis to identify areas of concerns prior to award.
  • Develops claims management goals, objectives and strategic plans based on business impact, available resources and budget
  • Works closely with Operations and Legal to ensure processes are being followed and to ensure our commercial and schedule interests are protected. 


Key Responsibilities:

  • Provides strategic leadership in resolution of moderate to complex contract claims prior to entering litigation to minimize company financial exposure
  • Acts as support to internal and external counsel in resolution of complex commercial, construction, employment and general litigation
  • Displays a high level of critical thinking in bringing successful resolution to high-impact, complex, and/or cross-functional problems



  • BS/BA in related discipline preferred but will consider equivalent combination of education and experience;
  • 12+ years of successful experience in related field and successful demonstration of Key Responsibilities
  • Strong technical/Engineering background
  • Sound business acumen combined with strong analytical and customer management skills
  • Use of independent judgment and creativity applied to resolution of contract issues
  • Strong understanding of corporate policies and procedures, coupled with ability to identify required improvement to established policies
  • Working knowledge of contracting concepts, Uniform Commercial Code, applicable public contract acquisition law and regulations, and applicable international contract law
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Strong internal and external negotiation skills
  • Ability to travel up to 20% (within North America)
