Position Summary

This role serves as the individual responsible for ensuring all sourcing requests are executed in line with business strategy and priorities, as set forth by strategic sourcing strategies and project objectives, including preferred supplier arrangements and contracting requirements.  In addition, this role is responsible for supporting business improvement initiatives with particular focus on major supplier capacity management and planning for current and future customer requirements. The position interacts directly with Engineering, Project Management, and Procurement teams, as well as with direct material and indirect service providers to ensure compliance to cost and delivery commitments.   This individual must be able to work in a fast-paced and team-oriented environment with a focus on internal customer satisfaction, continuous improvement, compliance, and excellent attention to details.  The position requires the ability to work independently, prioritize work, demonstrate strong accountability, good judgment and meet established deadlines. This position reports to the Sr. Director Procurement

Value Analysis & Value Engineering (VAVE) and maximizing cash flow with vendor payment and stocking Support XPD projects and operational footprint projects including localization, if required.  Active participant in Site Procurement and Commodity Management teams, continuing team dynamic and culture of continuous improvement. Travel when required

Core Responsibilities and Tasks

  • Ensuring capacity management tools are fully deployed throughout key suppliers and actively managing commitment/acceptance whilst meeting external customer requirement dates.
  • Build strong relationships and drive a continuous improvement mindset throughout key suppliers.
  • Also identification where development areas exist and deploying Supplier Development initiatives to address issues identified
  • Identify cost reduction opportunities including alternative sourcing by utilizing benchmarking data, cost modeling, low-cost sourcing and total cost analysis.
  • Identify product/process improvements, execute competitive sourcing processes, and leverage commodity market trends and global spend.
  • Support Strategic Sourcing Managers as required to gain targeted improvements in total project cost while adhering to comprehensive commodity strategies.
  • Utilize market analysis information, benchmarking, and total cost of ownership to deliver supplier selection and qualification processes.
  • Identify mitigation plan for pricing inflation and high-risk factors that may impact total cost impact to Projects. 
  • Engage with Order Execution team to establish project delivery schedule in accordance with key component delivery expectations and manufacturing requirements.
  • Identify lead time reduction opportunities and manage project supply base to mitigate risk of disruption to established project schedule. 
  • Identify risks and constraints within the supply chain and develop secondary sourcing and manufacturing plan.
  • Drive lean transformation throughout the supply chain and continuous improvement in all aspects of the project procurement process.

Position Requirements

  • Negotiation skills, supplier performance accountability
  • Experience with the procurement and material flow in an Engineered-to-Order environment
  • Experience operating within fast paced business with strong commercial acumen
  • Self-starter, able to manage schedules and deadlines
  • Critical thinking, data-driven decision making, problem-solving Skills, and strong communication skills
  • Computer skills such as SAP systems (or similar ERP platform), Email, MS Office, and MS Projects

 

Education & Experience Requirements:

 

  • BS/BA degree in Supply Chain Management, Materials Manager, Engineering or Business
  • Minimum of 5 years Supply Chain/Procurement experience within a related manufacturing industry
  • Institute for Supply Management (ISM) C.P.M, CPSM® or CPSM® or APICS CSCP or CPIM professional certifications are preferred or other applicable professional designation
