Position Summary

Xylem is looking for a Senior Field Service Technician to operate our customer site in Point Comfort, TX.

What your day will look like as a Field Service Technician

The Field Service Technician will be responsible for maintaining our water treatment equipment at our site in Point Comfort, TX. This equipment includes, but is not limited to, various pumps, valves, motors, and filters. Equipment specific training will be provided. Willing to train the right person, but previous technical/mechanical/plumbing experience is especially encouraged.

This position has general day shift hours Monday-Friday with overtime opportunities and a compensated on-call rotation with occasional afternoons/weekends.

Core Responsibilities and Tasks

  • Creates and maintains safe working environment and cultures within the organization
  • Takes care of company property
  • Proactively trouble shoots systems for mechanical, electrical equipment conditions
  • Anticipates and corrects safety issues – both company and customer owned equipment
  • Direct interfacing with customers
  • May be responsible for work in multiple systems, locations or customers
  • Provides coaching 

Position Requirements

FORMAL EDUCATION:
Required:

  • HS diploma or equivalent
  • Industry specific licenses preferred

KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE:
Required:

  • Ability to obtain TWIC card
  • Ability to coach and train entry-level technicians
  • 2-5 years technical experience including industrial or commercial process water experience
  • Experience with Microsoft office including smart devices
  • Must have customer service experience
  • Demonstrates critical thinking and trouble shooting ability
  • Able to pass background check & pre-employment drug screen
