Business Purpose

The Process Optimization Specialist's overall responsibilities and purpose are to ensure quality issues are thoroughly investigated and to lead continuous improvement projects throughout RTS.

Position Summary

  • Provide support in quality assurance, control, and preventative activities with a focus on continuous improvement of internal products and processes.
  • Support supplier quality issues impacting daily operations.
  • Advocate and lead the execution of initiatives and projects to enhance quality performance within the business and for our customers.
  • Mentor and provide technical direction across multiple areas of expertise.
  • Ensure compliance to regulation and standards.

Core Responsibilities and Tasks

  • Live and exemplify our Growth Enabling Behaviors to be highly enabled to deliver, highly empowered to succeed, and highly accountable to lead.
  • Lead or support Continuous Improvement projects and activities within the Division.
  • Configure solutions in support of larger engineering and quality related projects.
  • Independent execution of assigned tasks.
  • Independently plans and prioritizes work assignments.
  • Ability to review work for quality and specification requirements.
  • Cooperates and contributes effectively with internal and external customers.

Position Requirements

FORMAL EDUCATION: Required:

  • BS/BA degree in Eng/Sci
  • 2-5 years of experience

Knowledge & Experience:

  • Bachelor of Science, engineering or related discipline required
  • Familiarity with ISO 9001, GDP, GMP preferred
  • Strong knowledge of Quality Concepts (e.g. Risk Management, CAPA, Audits, Statistics).
  • Must possess strong communication, project management and influencing skills as well as have the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously 
  • Ability to represent Quality function within and across project teams
  • Strong interpersonal skills, written, oral communication and negotiation skills
  • Strong in critical thinking and "outside the box" thinking
  • Highly developed problem solving skills
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Demonstrated ability to successfully manage and complete projects in a matrix organization
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of cross-functional teams

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS - 25% as needed
