The location for this position can be in Schaumburg, IL, Lowell, MASS, or Colorado Springs CO.

 

The Application Engineering Manager will lead a team of Application (Proposal Development) Engineers responsible for the configuration of customer solutions and the development of corresponding sales proposals to support the field sales team in acquiring new orders. Primary focus will to support the Evoqua Light Industry Technology Sales team which is active in the Western half of the United States. This AE Manager will collaborate with business development, order execution, and operations management to ensure a One Evoqua (team) approach during the Sales Acquisition phase. Additionally, the AE Manager will ensure the consistency of the application engineering team’s response to assure a positive customer experience within the Sales Acquisition phase and for proper transition to the Evoqua project execution team.

 

Seeking an experienced manager primarily focused on employee expectations; Responsible for managing personnel, deliverables and execution of department goals; identifies, supports and leads strategic organizational priorities.  Manages and directs the daily work of their team to ensure on-time delivery of accurate high-quality proposals addressing customer requirements and enabling the achievement of business goals. Develops strategic direction for the team by collaborating with Sr. leaders.

 

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Leads teams through engagement, performance management, and goals development and monitoring. 
  • Develops and Drives organizational strategy and manages business results. 
  • Maintains performance mgt responsibilities for employees under purview and directs staffing and organizational structure needs, coaching/mentoring, employee relations and promotional decisions; implement changes as directed.  May be a technical resource for others.
  • Advanced knowledge of business acumen;
  • Technical leader in the development of water treatment solutions for process water, ingredient water, wastewater with specific market knowledge in key the focus markets verticals of; pharmaceutical, microelectronics, healthcare, bio-sciences, and light manufacturing. May be a technical resource for others.
  • May have budget responsibilities
  • Has full authority for personnel actions and will need extensive knowledge of department processes.
  • Sets dept goals and objectives, ensures employees understand their role and monitor results/effectiveness, expense and budgets
  • Establishes and monitors procedures for business process and proposal development work in support of strategic initiatives.
  • Multidiscipline and strategic with broad scope and complexity of responsibility, broadly focused on organizational priorities, manager of leaders. 

 

Requirements:

  • BS/BA Engineering or equivalent technical degree required. Masters of business administration or advanced engineering degree desired.  
  • 8+ years of experience as a design engineer, proposal engineer, or technical business development manager
  • 2+ years of experience leading a team of engineers in a corporate environment  
  • Experience in the sales acquisition design phase of industrial water purification solutions preferred.

 

Travel:

  • 10-30% travel required, primarily within the continental United States
