Position Summary

Evoqua Roseville is looking for a Second Shift Process Operator to compliment both the Waste Processing and Waste Water Ion Exchange departments at the facility.  This position requires adherence to Evoqua behavior-based safety and lean management systems to assure functions are performed with the highest attention to employee safety and environmental compliance.  This function will focus on completing a variety of tasks throughout the facility to ensure both internal and external customer expectations are met or exceeded.  The Process Operator is responsible for proper use and application of various waste and wastewater treatment units as well as the coordination and handling of various materials and equipment throughout the facility.

Core Responsibilities and Tasks

  • Adhere to environmental, health & safety programs and policies to ensure work areas are safe and compliance with environmental regulations is maintained,
  • Participate in various meetings to understand production priorities,
  • Utilize and monitor site assets and equipment to ensure proper operation and product quality,
  • Escalate production issues that threaten the companies’ ability to service customers,
  • Adhere to product quality standards and related documents such as Standard Operating Procedures, Work Instructions, Job Safety Analysis and Standard Work
  • Control and monitor facility equipment and processes to ensure proper waste management and production quality.

Position Requirements

  • High School diploma or General Education Degree (GED),
  • A.A. in Chemistry or completion of a wastewater treatment program,
  • Two years-experience in chemical processing or industrial wastewater treatment,
  • Understanding of water and wastewater chemistry and ability to apply knowledge to water treatment and metals precipitation.
  • Experience with Water Softening, Ion Exchange and/ or Waste Water Treatment systems,
  • OSHA 40-Hour Hazardous Waste Operations and Emergency Response Certification,
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills across various mediums and ability to work with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community.

  1. Working environment contains proximity to moving mechanical parts, electrical currents, toxic-inorganic hazardous waste streams, fumes, odors, etc.
  2. Must be able to work in hot conditions for a length of time.
  3. Must be able to traverse building and grounds.
  4. Must be able to lift 50 pounds.
  5. Must be able to wear a respirator and a self-contained breathing apparatus (SCBA).
  6. Must be able to work in a crouching and kneeling position for short periods.
  7. Must be able to exit the plant within a minute.
  8. Must be able to respond to and distinguish between audible alarms.
  9. Must be able to move materials with dolly, pallet jack or forklift.
  10. Must be able to work on overhead equipment.
  11. Must be able to use tools to take apart and repair various small equipment.
  12. Must be able to stand for long periods of time.
  13. Must be able to climb steps and ladders.
  14. Must be able to wear a hardhat, face-shield, safety glasses, earplugs and other required PPE equipment.
  15. Must be able to work with arms extended above shoulder level for short periods.
