Evoqua Water Technologies is searching for an experienced Field Service Engineer II to support our Heavy Industry Service team based in the Orlando/Tampa, FL area of operations. The responsibilities of the Field Service Engineer are as follows:

  • Install, repair and troubleshoot chemical feed and water treatment equipment from the basic to the advanced.
  • Collection and evaluation of data and liquid samples for the purposes of evaluating the effectiveness of treatment systems as installed.
  • Run trials on water treatment systems, set system goals and optimize from the planning stage through report generation and customer presentation.
  • Assist in the planning and direct execution of complex custom installations.
  • Provide startup/Install support for new installations.
  • Provide training and technical support both process and mechanical to branch field service personnel, sales, and applications.
  • Assist Service Manager and Business Unit Manager on an as needed basis, by managing  both Internal & External Projects, ensuring project profitibility & schedule come in at or under budget.


Key Tasks and Responsibilities:

• Work well as part of a dynamic team.
• Ability to install, repair and troubleshoot chemical feed and water treatment equipment from the basic to advanced. Including but not limited to the following components: PLC’s, pumps, controllers, media filters, reverse osmosis units, deionization equipment and level indication equipment.
• Use a variety of tools and testing equipment in the execution of job tasks.
• Provide process and mechanical training to branch field service personnel employing methods specific to those being trained.
• Provide maintenance and sampling back-up to branch field service technicians, when needed.
• Prepare written customer reports detailing field work done in support of maintenance, installations, sampling and optimization programs, and field trials.
• Communicate effectively verbally customer and market concerns as well as status updates on projects, field service personnel performance and training progress to branch management.
• Use a computer for e-mail, customer and internal reporting, time-keeping, and for downloading/updating field testing equipment and controllers.
• Follow all safety policies and procedure in addition to developing standard operating procedures and job safety analyses in support of the safety program.

Position Requirements:

• B.S. degree in engineering or in a related technical field. Years of experience may be substituted for degree where applicable.
• Minimum 3 years’ experience preferred in technical field but not required.
• Strong customer service and interpersonal skills.
• Journeyman level plumbing, electrical and diagram reading skills. (Mechanically inclined)
• Possess mechanical and troubleshooting skills in person and in remote situations.
• Experienced in training and providing technical support including the ability to tailor training to audience.
• Experience in installing, setting up pumps, controls and various water treatment equipment.
• Communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
• Ability to work effectively individually and as part of a team.
• Strong computer skills in the use of email, and Microsoft Office as well as the ability to learn the use of company specific programs related to time keeping and customer reporting.
• Position will be based in the Orlando/Tampa, FL area but will cover the state of Florida. Candidate must be willing and able to travel domestically up to 50% of the time working irregular hours. Working weekends and holidays may also be required.

Additional Requirements:

• Requires valid driver’s license and good driving record.
• The ability to lift and carry up to 50 lb. objects.
• Climb in and out of a vehicle repetitively, kneel, climb ladders, stand, sit, walk, lift and reach.
