Engineering Automation Lead Job Description

The Engineering Automation Lead is a key position within the Engineering Excellence Team and will be responsible for setting the global standards and strategies as they relate to Engineering Automation for Evoqua’s products, projects, and services organizations.  

Purpose

To support and drive Engineering Excellence’s mission of developing a world class Engineering team by leading the businesses through a journey of standardizing and automating engineering processes and deliverables executed during the delivery of custom projects and products. 

Key Responsibilities

  • Reduce or eliminate Engineering touch time by driving standardization and automation of configured, standard and complex electromechanical systems
  • Aligning disparate Engineering structures under a shared strategy for CAD automation activities as it relates to projects and products developed in the Autodesk environment
  • Creating and managing a pipeline of Engineering Automation activities- Identifying opportunities to automate processes and activities across the global engineering groups
  • Direct Partnership with Engineering Leaders, delivering significant value through the execution of Engineering Automation Projects
  • Keeping Evoqua current on trends, tools, and practices in the area of Engineering Automation
  • Central voice of communication across Evoqua for Automation CAD workflows, principles and practices- educating and mentoring various Engineering groups in reducing effectiveness of Engineering activities
  • Key liaison with Evoqua India and engineering shared services to facilitate execution of Engineering Automation projects and programs
  • Up to 15% travel may be required

 

 Education/Experience

  • BS in Engineering, IT, Computer Science, related discipline, or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 5+ years foundational Programming and architecting experience with C#.NET in developing product configurators for Autodesk Inventor software using API and iLogic.
  • 5+ years of experience with Autodesk CAD suite of Configure Price Quote (CPQ ) tools or with Engineer to Order ( ETO ) tools preferably in complex equipment businesses
  • Experience in web technologies like ASP.net and SQL database, Azure is preferred.
  • Experience with ERP integrations, PDM Vault integrations, Autodesk Forge, SAP, VBA, and MS Power Platforms would be added advantage
  • Experience in the use of Autodesk Suite- including but not limited to Inventor and AutoCAD
  • Player/Coach with respect to execution of complex Engineering Automation projects
  • Strong leadership, communication, organization, and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience with Continuous Improvement methodology a plus.

 

Direction of Others

Role is defined as the Engineering Automation lead within Evoqua and will be responsible for providing guidance, mentorship, and indirect management of the activities performed by global resources dedicated to Automation activities.  Strong communication skills and an innate ability to guide and mentor others is critical to success.  Must possess a focus and purpose aligned to the One Evoqua charter to automate engineering tools and processes across the organization.
