Evoqua Water Technologies is currently searching for an International Sales Engineer based out of Waukesha, WI.


This position is to support our municipal wastewater equipment sales group, targeting international markets, covering physical (clarification and filtration) and biological (fixed film and activated sludge) treatment technologies. The successful candidate will be a self-starter with customer-centric personality, strong communication skills, and MS Office proficiency. 


Approximately 20 to 30% travel is expected to provide technical support to sales at customer meetings.


Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Develop Opportunities for Owner-driven sales via individual sales efforts and working with channel partners
  • Work directly with the sales team including third party representatives to provide application support for all wastewater segment products based on customer needs, develop solutions, design specifications and budgetary constraints in select international markets.
  • Develop budgetary proposals including design basis, specifications, drawings and pricing.
  • Review bid documents and provide feedback to align our equipment offering with plans and specification requirements.
  • Prepare proposals, working closely with Technical Sales Engineers, including technical and commercial clarifications to bid documents, in order to fulfill the requirements of customer specifications
  • Support and work with design and execution teams on collaborative basis to ensure booked orders are executed on time and on budget.



  • BS or MS in Engineering: Mechanical, Civil, Environmental or Chemical
  • 5 – 7 years engineering experience in same or similar field
  • Time management
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams
  • Must have the ability to work well with others with minimal supervision
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to travel internationally

Preferred Skills:

  • International market exposure
  • Prior experience in wastewater treatment processes, applications, and knowledge of products used in these situations.
  • Sales experience including an understanding of typical procurement methods in the municipal market; i.e bids to contractors, design-build projects, direct bids to municipalities, and general knowledge of commercial terms used in proposals
  • Experience dealing with sales representatives, managing sales activities.
  • Negotiation skills
  • CAD design experience a plus.
