Position Summary
Evoqua is now hiring for a Mechanical Design Engineer to work a hybrid work schedule for our location in Waukesha, WI. In this role, you will be responsible for designing structural steel products based on our customer specifications. You will create 3D CAD general arrangement, detailed manufacturing drawings, and part numbers in support of Wastewater project schedules.

Core Responsibilities and Tasks
- Design equipment using 3D models and drawings. Specifically, create general arrangements for submittal, assemblies, weldments, or fabrication drawings as required for each project.
- Employ principals of design for manufacturability and assembly (DFMA) and communicate with the Evoqua factory to address questions.
- Collaborate with project team to address technical decisions, coordinate work, and execute project plan.
- Create Material Masters and bills of materials (BOMs) in enterprise resource planning (ERP) system.
- Collaborate with Product Manager to address technical decision, coordinate work and execute product development plan.
- Communicate with product vendors to validate component selection, consider alternatives, and ensure compliance with specification requirements.
Position Requirements
FORMAL EDUCATION:
- Requires BS/BA degree in Engineering.
- 0-3 yrs. of experience
Technical Expertise:
- Experience with 3D parametric CAD software required (Autodesk Inventor preferred)
Business Knowledge:
- Experience with manufacturing of steel structures is preferred.
Communication/ Contacts:
- Regular interaction with engineers and project managers.
Decision Making:
- Establish and maintain a design schedule in support of a project.
- Identify design issues early in project schedule and present solutions to the team.
